Originally from Minnesota, Regan Mies is currently an MFA candidate in creative writing (fiction, literary translation) at Columbia University, where she received her BA in political science and German. Regan is also an associate coordinator for Columbia Artist/Teachers, a program assistant with Columbia’s Committee on Global Thought, and a jury advisor with cross-cultural organization New Books in German. Previously, she taught English in Hamburg with the support of a Fulbright grant and worked in the editorial department at Abrams Books.
Regan’s reviews and interviews have appeared in the Los Angeles Review of Books, the Cleveland Review of Books, the Chicago Review of Books, and Necessary Fiction, and her short fiction and translations have appeared in the Asymptote blog, No Man’s Land, On the Seawall, and elsewhere.
